Chelmsford Operating Theatre. The operating theatre is used to train our Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs). ODPs are an important part of the operating department team, working with surgeons, anesthetists' and theatre nurses providing high standards of patient care. They help to ensure every operation is carried out as safely and effectively as possible. They work as part of a team in one of three roles – Anaesthetic role, Surgical role – scrub & circulating and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU).
This state-of-the-art operating theatre was built in collaboration with the NHS to ensure that students have hands on practical experience whilst learning in the University.
